Spoken English Lesson 2

Part 1: Useful Daily Phrases

Good morning! How was your night? (सुप्रभात! आपकी रात कैसी रही?)

  • Response: My night was good, thank you. How about yours? (मेरी रात अच्छी रही, धन्यवाद। आपकी?)

Please pass me the [item]. (कृपया मुझे [वस्तु] दे दें।)

  • Example: Please pass me the salt. (कृपया मुझे नमक दे दें।)

Can you help me with this? (क्या आप मेरी इसमें मदद कर सकते हैं?)

  • Response: Sure, what do you need help with? (ज़रूर, आपको किस चीज़ में मदद चाहिए?)

I don’t understand. Can you explain it again? (मुझे समझ नहीं आया। क्या आप इसे फिर से समझा सकते हैं?)

Part 2: Practice

Step 1: Repeat

Practice each phrase 5 times to get comfortable with the pronunciation.

Step 2: Role-play

Imagine a situation where you can use these phrases. For example:

You: Good morning! How was your night?

Friend/Partner: My night was good. How about yours?

You: It was good too, thank you.

Step 3: Add Your Own

Add 2-3 daily phrases from your routine. For example:

  • Where are my keys? (मेरी चाबियां कहाँ हैं?)
  • I am getting late. (मुझे देर हो रही है।)

Homework

  1. Write 3 sentences using the phrases you learned today. (आज सीखे गए वाक्यों का उपयोग करके 3 वाक्य लिखें।)
  2. Practice speaking them in front of a mirror for fluency. (फ्लुएंसी के लिए इन वाक्यों को आईने के सामने बोलकर अभ्यास करें।)
